I want to give you some impressions of the private Bahamas Island Ocean Cay Marine Resort, a paradise island in the Atlantic Ocean.
During a cruise through the Caribbean Sea in December 2019, we had the chance to be one of the first visitors of the small artificial Bahamas Island of the MSC Cruises corporation. The island is called MSC Ocean Cay Marine Resort and is part of the Bimini chain of islands in the Western Bahamas, 20 miles south of Bimini and 65 miles east of Miami Florida.
This Bahama island was officially opened on December 5th, 2019. It was reclaimed and restored from a sand mine by MSC Cruises. Because of the tropical storm Dorian, construction was delayed. So there was still some construction work and equipment on the island.
Now MSC Cruises use the island as an exclusive destination for their cruise ships. We reached the island short after sunrise.
After we arrived Ocean Cay with the MSC Armonia, the crew started to unload food and drinks from the ship. About an hour later we could leave to explore Ocean Cay Marine Resort.
Even though there are more than 2000 people on the ship, once they spread over the island, you don’t see crowds on the tiny island. There are different beaches and activities, so people are spread around and you can find easily a quiet space..
We really enjoyed the day on this paradise island
MSC Cruises, in case you look for a facility manager after my retirement, just let me know…
